NJP Floor Lamp
The NJP Floor Lamp by Louis Poulsen was designed by Oki Sato, founder of nendo design studio, with the intention of producing a new interpretation of the classic anglepoise lamp, with all its familiar details – in a contemporary design, featuring functions adapted to modern working life, both in the office and at home.
The NJP Floor lamp’s flexible head and arms provide exceptional adjustability, which is often lacking in standard floor lights. It is well-suited for use as a reading light beside an armchair or sofa, as the flexible design means the light can easily be adjusted to provide optimal lighting. It features an LED light source and is designed with the source positioned high up as to avoid dazzling and unpleasant lighting. One refined yet practical detail is its chimney-shaped head reflecting some of the light through the rear and therefore illuminating the top of the arm – while allowing the heat from the light source to escape.
The NJP floor lamp provides direct glare-free horizontal light while reflecting some of the light through the rear of the head, illuminating the top of the arm. The ergonomic design of the fixture head shapes the light and gives optimal light direction. A simple mechanical system provides great freedom of movement, so the light can always be set in the ideal position in the workspace. The shade is painted white on the inside, reflecting comfortable diffused light.
The NJP Floor Lamp is available in 3 color options and comes with a matching colored, 6 foot cord. A convenient button on the lighting fixture's shade turns features 2 levels of light intensity and also on/off functions and timer functions (4 - 8 hours).
