Kamodo Chair

$1,795

The 101 Copenhagen Kamado Chair is named after traditional Japanese clay ovens. The Kamado, which translates to place for the cauldron, was built directly on the ground in clay. Air openings around the floor level created the look of legs, which was used as a reference for the front legs of this minimalist fiber concrete lounge chair.  Early Kamados were known for their asymmetry, reflected in the one-sided armrest of the chair. Cast in lightweight fiber concrete, the chair is lightweight with a unique surface texture resulting from the hand painted process, making each chair unique. Emphasizing the fine balance between sharp architectural lines and Japanese aesthetics, the Kamado Chair is a sculptural statement piece with compelling comfort. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl.

101 Copenhagen is a Danish design brand founded in 2017 with a strong vision to create a world of beautiful furniture, lighting, and accessories in a timeless yet modern design firmly rooted in the Scandinavian soil and nourished by Japanese minimalist aesthetics. The dynamic design approach values freedom of expression, resulting in playful and unique pieces.
