PH 2/1 Pendant Lamp

The PH 2/1 Pendant is a member of the PH series. Designed by Poul Henningsen in 1926, the series is based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system that directs the majority of the light downwards. Each shade is made of hand-blown, opal, three-layer glass, which is glossy on top and sandblasted matte on the underside, resulting in a soft and uniform distribution of light.

Poul Henningsen was a pioneer in the lighting world as the first designer to take a scientific approach to lighting. Working with Louis Poulsen from 1925 up until his death in 1967, his focus on glare-free and soft lighting is still the foundation of Louis Poulsen's lighting philosophy.

The PH light model numbers refer to the shade size. Each top shade had a corresponding set of middle and lower shades. The PH 2/1 Pendant consists of an 7.9" top shade and uses lower shades from the 1/1 model. Hybrids like the 2/1 allow hanging at lower heights than the "pure" models.

"...it is an art to make light both economical and glare free." -Poul Henningsen

The canopy is white and includes a 12' black cord.
